MESH Awarded £5000 for Work in Abbeydale Corridor
MESH has been awarded £5000 by the South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner's Community Grant Scheme. The award is funding the delivery of work in the Abbeydale Corridor.
The focus of the work will be around building relationships and providing training in mediation skills to parents and elders in areas where there is anti-social behaviour.

The funding has been awarded as part of a larger scheme, which provides support and advice to residents in South Yorkshire that fit in with the Police and Crime Plan's priorities.
Dr Alan Billings said: “I am pleased to see so many organisations receiving funding this month. I have provided funding to groups who support young people in to employment, groups who provide advice and support for those addicted to drugs and alcohol and youth projects aimed at targeting young people to divert them away from antisocial behaviour and criminality."
About MESH Community Cohesion Services
Founded in 1989 on the principles of simplicity, openness, and honesty, MESH Community Cohesion Services is a charity dedicated to improving the Sheffield, South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire communities through alternative, more positive means of resolving conflict.
MESH provides mediation services including neighbour, community (neighbourhood), family and workplace mediation. The charity provides a ‘community cohesion’ service in neighbourhoods experiencing tensions. It does this by working in partnership with neighbourhood groups, organisations and statutory services.
MESH is a recognised centre of excellence in mediation training providing bespoke training packages to individuals and groups. MESH also trains staff of well-known mediation providers and organisations wishing to deliver their own in-house mediation services.
Additionally, MESH provides training to volunteers and to front line service providers in neighbour mediation skills and practices. The trainees find these skills helpful for dealing with a wide variety of situations, including negotiating, dealing with difficult people, and family situations.
